Gebal Group is one of the oldest outdoor recreation and sports infrastructure companies in the Middle East. Established in 1979, they have delivered over 2,500 projects across the GCC: public parks, school playgrounds, skate parks, padel courts, basketball courts, pump tracks, and community recreation spaces for government authorities, developers, and architects.

They hold ISO 9001 certification, EN 1176 safety compliance on every project handover, and partnerships with global brands. Their clients include Dubai Municipality, GEMS Schools, Abu Dhabi government authorities, and major residential and hospitality developers.

Despite all of this, Google did not know they existed.

02 / THE CHALLENGE

Zero Search Visibility.

When architects searched “playground builder Dubai,” Gebal was not there. When developers looked for “padel court builder” in Doha or Riyadh, Gebal was invisible. When procurement teams researched sports infrastructure suppliers across the GCC, they found directories and competitors, not the company with 2,500 completed projects.

GCC SEO requires understanding of multi-city, multi-country targeting across a single domain, low keyword volumes with extremely high commercial value per enquiry, and an emerging AI search layer where generative engine optimisation determines who gets cited.

The goal was to make Google treat Gebal Group as the category authority for outdoor recreation infrastructure across the entire GCC.

Standard SEO for a B2B infrastructure company in the GCC would take years to break through. Instead, AIIMS deployed engineering-grade content: long-form, technically authoritative pages written at the level of a specification document, not a marketing brochure. This approach directly aligns with how AI search results are constructed in 2026.

Pillar 1: Region-First Expansion

Every piece of content was anchored to a specific city and market. Dubai was the proving ground. If it worked, it would scale to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. This produced dedicated pages for Playground Builder Dubai, Padel Court Builder Dubai/Doha/Jeddah/Riyadh, Basketball Court Builder, Skate Parks, Landscaping Contractors, and Shade Structures.

How Climate Shapes Outdoor Design in the UAE

14-minute technical guide referencing peer-reviewed research (University of Sharjah, Springer, Frontiers in Built Environment) on thermal comfort, shade typologies, and material degradation.

Both pages were structured with question-based H2 headings, direct-answer lead paragraphs (the format AI Overviews preferentially cite), FAQ schema, and Article JSON-LD.

Over 12 months, Gebal’s backlink profile grew to 413 total backlinks from 140 referring domains, with a 79.4% follow ratio. A clean, natural link profile reinforcing topical authority.

05 / THE STRATEGIC DECISION

Supplier vs Builder:
A Controlled Experiment

In April 2026, the Gebal board requested that “Playground Equipment Supplier” keywords be added to the SEO programme. This introduced a strategic risk.

Supplier-based keywords attract lower commercial intent queries: researchers, small buyers, comparative shoppers. Not the government procurement officers, developers, and architects who commission Gebal’s high-value projects. Adding generic supplier pages directly competes for the same Google slots as the high-performing builder and contractor pages.

Rather than refusing the direction or executing it blindly, AIIMS implemented a controlled experiment with commercial guardrails: engineering-style content targeting Dubai first, with clear evaluation criteria. If high-intent clicks followed, expand. If not, retract without damage.

The result: the Playground Equipment Supplier Dubai page is now the #2 organic page on the entire site by impressions (1,744 in 28 days), ranking at position 8.8 and climbing. The experiment validated the approach.
