The assignment
A strong brand should not leave its public identity to chance. It should own the search result, make its expertise easy to verify and give both people and machines enough evidence to understand why it belongs in the conversation.
Solar Battery Group already operated at national scale. Its public website describes more than 30,000 installations across Australia and a decade of helping households reduce grid reliance. The next requirement was not simply “more SEO”. It was a coordinated brand reputation and search programme built around the way customers now discover, research and validate a business.
That meant treating the traditional search result, Google Business Profile, public business information, customer evidence, educational content and AI-generated answers as parts of the same system.
The objective was not to manufacture attention. It was to make existing authority visible, consistent and reusable.
The eight-week proactive drive connected strategy, production and measurement. AIIMS reviewed the brand’s search environment, aligned the evidence, expanded its content footprint and established a clearer view of how the organisation appeared across both conventional and generative search.
What AIIMS built
One programme. Six connected layers.
Brand reputation is strongest when search, content, local presence and AI discovery reinforce one another rather than operating as isolated agency tasks.
01 · SEARCH
Brand SERP control
Reviewing how the brand appeared across the full search result—not only its organic position—and identifying where owned answers could become clearer.
02 · ENTITY
Identity consistency
Aligning the organisation’s public name, locations, services and authority signals so search engines and AI systems encounter one coherent entity.
03 · LOCAL
Local discovery
Connecting the national brand with market-level visibility through Google Business Profile, location architecture and consistent service-area signals.
04 · CONTENT
Customer-led publishing
Turning customer outcomes, household questions, battery education and product considerations into useful assets across video and written content.
05 · AI SEARCH
Answer visibility
Measuring how the brand was mentioned and cited across a controlled set of questions instead of relying on isolated AI searches.
06 · MEASUREMENT
One evidence view
Bringing search, analytics, local and AI visibility signals together so the next action was based on evidence rather than assumption.
The content engine
Proof is stronger when it can travel.
A customer story should not live once and disappear. It can become video, short-form education, a case study, an FAQ, a local proof point and a structured answer that search and AI systems can interpret.

The result was a connected content footprint spanning customer evidence, product education, comparison, installation questions, battery lifespan, blackout protection and household energy outcomes.
The public-safe result
Movement that can be measured.
The reporting window showed stronger local discovery alongside a larger, more structured body of brand-owned evidence. The numbers below are deliberately limited to high-level outcomes suitable for public release.
Observed changes occurred during the programme period and aligned with deployed workstreams. They are presented as programme evidence, not as controlled experimental causality.
+48.1%
Google Business Profile views
Year-on-year movement showed materially stronger visibility around the local brand presence.
+77.8%
Searches showing the profile
More customers encountered Solar Battery Group while searching across Google’s local discovery environment.
30
New public content assets
A broader evidence base gave customers, search engines and AI systems more useful material to evaluate.
Strong
Branded search and AI recognition
The review confirmed meaningful brand visibility while defining the next opportunity: earlier, non-branded category discovery.
What the programme proved
Modern reputation is search infrastructure.
Customers do not experience SEO, reviews, local listings, video and AI answers as separate disciplines. They experience one brand—and they notice when its evidence agrees.
01
Brand rank is only the beginning
Winning the organic listing matters, but the entire search result shapes the first impression.
02
Local visibility needs conversion
More views create opportunity; clear actions and trustworthy profile content turn attention into movement.
03
AI needs corroborating evidence
Direct answers become stronger when customer proof, business facts and third-party sources agree.
04
Content needs a system
Repeatable production creates greater authority than isolated posts built without a wider information plan.
05
Measurement must lead to delivery
A report matters only when it identifies the next useful page, signal, technical improvement or customer answer.
AI search did not make traditional brand reputation obsolete. It made reputation more machine-readable.
Generative systems form answers from what they can find, compare and corroborate. A brand’s website, customer stories, reviews, location signals, product information and third-party references all contribute to that understanding. If those sources are inconsistent, thin or outdated, the generated answer inherits the uncertainty.
This is why AIIMS treats Generative Engine Optimisation as an extension of strong search and brand practice—not a replacement for it. The work still begins with accurate facts, useful content, technical accessibility, real evidence and sustained measurement.
What comes next
Use the momentum. Broaden the discovery.
The next phase is not another diagnostic cycle. It is a disciplined continuation of the work that created the evidence.
01 · Category content
Answer the question before the customer knows the brand
Expand from branded authority into useful, non-branded questions connected with household needs, product selection, cost and value.
02 · Technical clarity
Make every important fact easier to interpret
Strengthen crawlability, internal linking, structured data and entity relationships around services, products, locations and supporting answers.
03 · Local conversion
Turn profile visibility into a clearer customer path
Continue improving the actions, imagery, service information and destination pages supporting local search discovery.
04 · Reputation operation
Keep public evidence current and responsive
Monitor customer themes, maintain accurate business information and ensure public-facing answers reflect the service standard the brand intends to deliver.
Be visible in search. Become evidence in the answer.
It is a coordinated programme designed to improve how a business appears when customers search for its name, reviews, locations, services and authority. It can include owned content, local listings, public business information, reputation signals, structured data and monitoring across the full search result.
How is GEO different from traditional SEO?
Traditional SEO focuses on visibility in search engine results. Generative Engine Optimisation adds measurement and improvement around AI-generated answers, including brand mentions, citations, share of voice, sentiment and the sources used to support a response. The disciplines share the same foundations: accuracy, authority, useful content and technical accessibility.
Why does Google Business Profile matter to AI search?
Local and entity information helps systems connect a business with its name, services, locations and public presence. A complete profile does not control an AI answer, but accurate and consistent information can strengthen the wider body of corroborating evidence.
Can content improve both search visibility and brand reputation?
Yes. Customer stories, direct answers, product education, case studies, expert commentary and location information can help customers evaluate a brand while giving search and AI systems clearer evidence to understand its expertise.
How quickly should brand reputation SEO be measured?
Measurement should begin with a reliable baseline and then be repeated consistently. An eight-week review can reveal early movement and operational gaps, while longer reporting periods are needed to assess sustained search, citation and commercial outcomes.
Public edition and methodology. This article uses a limited set of high-level outcomes from an eight-week programme review. Confidential raw datasets, internal contact information, individual customer records, named competitive activity, private screenshots, commercial approvals and unpublished tactical details have been excluded. Search and AI-generated results can vary by query, location, device, platform and date. Year-on-year movements are observational programme evidence and should not be interpreted as controlled experimental attribution.

Your Google Business Profile Is Now a Google Ads Growth Asset.
The profile customers see in Search and Maps can also feed location assets, Maps advertising and Performance Max. If the underlying business data is weak, paid performance starts with a handicap.
Google AdsGoogle Business ProfileLocal growth2026 guide
Stop treating your Business Profile as the free listing someone checks when the opening hours change.
In 2026, Google Business Profile sits at the intersection of local SEO, customer trust and paid media. It is one of the clearest examples of why organic visibility and Google Ads can no longer be managed as isolated channels.
Google allows advertisers to connect a Business Profile to Google Ads and use its locations through location assets. Those assets can provide customers with practical business information such as an address, map, distance, phone number and call button.
For businesses with physical locations, Google also supports Performance Max campaigns for store goals. Google states that these campaigns can optimise toward outcomes including store visits, store sales and local actions such as calls or requests for directions.
That means the quality, governance and structure of the profile are not administrative details. They can affect how the business is represented during commercial discovery—when someone is deciding who to call, where to visit and which brand looks credible enough to choose.
01Search presenceBusiness information, services, reviews, photos and updates can support customer evaluation.
02Maps discoveryThe profile helps customers understand where the business is and how to reach it.
03Advertising inputLinked locations can be used as location assets within eligible Google Ads campaigns.
04Offline growthStore-goal campaigns can focus on calls, directions, visits and eligible store-sales measurement.
One profile. Four connected growth surfaces.
The mistake is seeing each surface as a separate task. The commercial advantage comes from building one accurate, controlled and measurable local presence.
Google Search
Customers can encounter business details while researching the brand, service, product or location.
Google Maps
Local intent becomes physical action through map discovery, directions, phone calls and location information.
Location Assets
Google Ads can use linked locations to enrich eligible ads with practical business information.
Performance Max
Store-goal campaigns can use locations, budgets and creative assets to pursue measurable offline outcomes.
A paid campaign cannot repair a weak local identity.
Google Ads can expand visibility. It cannot manufacture a coherent business presence from inaccurate hours, weak categories, poor photography, neglected reviews, inconsistent phone numbers and unclear services.
The customer sees the combined result. They do not care which internal team owns SEO, Maps, advertising, content or customer experience. They see a business that either looks current and trustworthy—or one that does not.
Google advises businesses to keep their information complete and accurate. Profiles can include hours, address or service area, phone number, website, photos, videos, posts and customer reviews. Each field is a small piece of commercial evidence.
If your Google Ads team does not know who manages your Business Profile, and your local SEO team does not know which locations are connected to paid campaigns, the infrastructure is already fractured.

The AIIMS framework
Build the profile and campaign as one acquisition system.
01
Fix ownership before optimisation
Confirm which Google account owns each Business Profile, which people have access and which Ads manager is authorised to connect the locations. Former staff, duplicated profiles and unmanaged agency access create risk.
02
Validate the business reality
Check the public name, address or service area, phone, hours, website, categories and services against the actual business. Do not add locations, names or keywords that misrepresent the operation.
03
Connect locations deliberately
In Google Ads, create the relevant location assets and link the correct Business Profile account. Multi-location businesses should use controlled filters or location groups so the right branches serve with the right campaigns.
04
Match campaign type to the outcome
Search campaigns may suit direct high-intent lead generation. Maps advertising requires linked location assets. Performance Max for store goals may suit eligible businesses focused on local actions, visits or store sales. The campaign type follows the commercial objective.
05
Measure beyond form fills
Establish tracking for calls, direction requests, bookings, store activity and CRM outcomes where available and appropriate. A local campaign judged only by website clicks will miss much of the customer journey.
06
Maintain the system
Profiles change, teams change, holidays change and campaigns change. Ongoing management should include access reviews, location checks, creative updates, review responses, data integrity and performance analysis.
The expensive mistakes are usually operational.
Most businesses do not fail because they ignored one secret setting. They fail because ownership, data, creative and measurement were never brought under one accountable system.
Failure point
Linking the wrong profile
A similarly named branch, old location or duplicate profile can send customers to the wrong place and fragment reporting.
Failure point
One campaign for every location
Branches may need different budgets, services, operating hours, phone numbers, landing pages and CRM routing.
Failure point
Ignoring calls and directions
Local customers often act without completing a website form. Measurement must reflect how the business actually wins work.
Failure point
Using weak stock photography
Customers assessing a real local provider want evidence of the real premises, team, work, products and customer experience.
Failure point
Leaving reviews unmanaged
Paid visibility can increase exposure to both strong and weak reputation signals. Advertising does not hide neglect.
Failure point
Treating setup as completion
A profile connected once and ignored for a year will drift away from the business, the campaign and the customer.
Google Business Profile and Google Ads FAQs.
Clear answers for Australian businesses planning local paid acquisition in 2026.
Can a Google Business Profile be connected to Google Ads?
Yes. Google provides a process for linking a Business Profile to Google Ads and creating location assets. Access and ownership should be checked carefully before linking multi-location or agency-managed accounts.
Does Google Business Profile improve Google Ads performance?
A Business Profile can supply locations for eligible location assets and store-goal campaigns. It can also strengthen the trust environment customers see around the business. It does not guarantee better results by itself; campaign structure, bidding, creative, landing pages, reputation and measurement still matter.
Do Google Maps ads require a Business Profile?
Google states that Map search ads require linked location assets. Those assets can be created by linking eligible business locations through Google Ads.
What can Performance Max for store goals optimise for?
According to Google, Performance Max for store goals can aim to maximise in-store value and conversions using eligible outcomes such as store visits, store sales and local actions including calls or direction clicks.
Should every branch use the same Google Ads campaign?
Not automatically. Branches may require separate budgets, services, targeting, phone numbers, landing pages and lead routing. Google supports location groups and filtering, but the correct structure depends on how the business operates and measures results.
Can AIIMS manage both Google Ads and Google Business Profile?
Yes. AIIMS Group can manage Google Ads strategy, Business Profile optimisation, local discovery, landing pages, creative production, call tracking, CRM attribution and performance reporting as one connected growth system.
Why Your SEO and Google Ads Should Be Managed by the Same Agency
Most businesses run SEO and Google Ads as separate projects, with separate agencies, separate reports and separate strategies. That setup costs more, delivers less and creates blind spots that neither team can see. Here is why the businesses getting the best results in 2026 are consolidating both under one roof.
Why should SEO and Google Ads be managed together?
Because they are not two separate channels. They are two views of the same search landscape, and the businesses treating them that way are outperforming everyone else.
When someone searches “emergency plumber Sydney” on Google, they see ads at the top and organic results below. If your agency runs the ads and a different agency runs the SEO, neither one knows what the other is doing. Your ad team bids on keywords you already rank #1 for organically. Your SEO team writes content targeting terms that convert poorly in ads. Your reports show two different versions of reality.
An integrated agency sees the full picture. They know which keywords convert in Google Ads and push those into the SEO strategy. They know which pages rank organically and pull ad spend away from terms you already own. They share conversion data, landing pages, audience insights and competitor intelligence across both channels.
The result is not just convenience. It is measurably better performance. Google’s own research has consistently shown that businesses appearing in both paid and organic results see higher click-through rates than either channel alone. When your brand occupies more of the search results page, trust compounds.
This is not a theoretical argument. Every major case study we publish at AIIMS Group demonstrates it: organic and paid search working as a single system, managed by the same team, reporting through the same dashboard.
What goes wrong when SEO and Google Ads are separated?
Separation does not just create inefficiency. It creates active conflict between your two biggest search channels.
Keyword cannibalisation
Your ad agency bids aggressively on branded terms and keywords your site already ranks #1 for. You pay for clicks you would have received for free. Neither agency flags it because neither has visibility into the other’s data.
Conflicting landing pages
Your SEO agency builds content-rich pages designed for rankings. Your ad agency builds stripped-down landing pages designed for conversions. Neither aligns with the other. Users land on inconsistent experiences depending on whether they clicked an ad or an organic result.
Duplicated research costs
Both agencies run keyword research independently. Both build competitor analyses. Both create monthly reports. You pay twice for overlapping work, and the insights never merge into a single strategy.
Blind spot on attribution
A customer sees your ad on Monday, visits organically on Wednesday and converts on Friday. Which agency takes credit? When channels are split across agencies, attribution becomes a political argument instead of a data point.
How does shared data between SEO and PPC improve results?
The real advantage of one agency is not cost savings. It is the intelligence loop that forms when both channels share data in real time.
Ads inform SEO targeting
Google Ads data reveals which keywords actually convert into leads, calls and sales. Instead of guessing, your SEO strategy targets the terms with proven commercial intent.
SEO reduces ad dependency
As your organic rankings improve for high-value terms, your agency reduces paid spend on those keywords. The budget shifts to new opportunities where organic has not yet caught up.
Shared conversion tracking
One tracking setup, one analytics view, one source of truth. No conflicting numbers. No double-counted conversions. The team sees exactly what is working across both channels.
When we launched Plumbing Bros across website, SEO and Google Ads simultaneously, the shared intelligence loop generated 76 conversions and 114 inbound calls in the first campaign window. The Google Ads search term data directly informed the SEO content strategy, and the new website was built for both organic rankings and paid landing page performance from day one. Read the full case study.
What should you look for in an integrated SEO and Google Ads agency?
Not every agency that offers both services actually integrates them. Here is how to tell the difference between a genuinely integrated team and two departments sharing a logo.
1. Single reporting dashboard
Ask to see a sample monthly report. A genuinely integrated agency shows organic and paid data side by side: total search visibility, combined conversion counts, cost per lead across both channels. If they send two separate reports, they are two separate teams.
2. Shared strategist or account lead
The person responsible for your SEO strategy should be in the same room (or the same call) as the person managing your ads. If your SEO contact has never spoken to your ads contact, that is not integration.
3. Anti-cannibalisation strategy
Ask directly: “How do you prevent us from paying for clicks we would get organically?” An integrated agency has a documented approach to this. A fragmented one has never been asked the question.
4. Cross-channel case studies
Look for case studies that show SEO and Google Ads working together on the same client. Not separate SEO results and separate ads results, but a unified story of how both channels contributed to the outcome.
5. Google Partner status
A Google Partner or Premier Partner badge verifies that the agency has certified account managers and meets Google’s performance thresholds. It is not the only signal, but its absence is worth questioning.
6. Technical depth
An agency that manages SEO and ads together should also handle (or at least deeply understand) your website’s technical foundation: page speed, schema markup, conversion tracking, analytics configuration. If they outsource the technical layer, the integration breaks.
What questions should you ask before signing with an integrated agency?
These are the questions that separate agencies who genuinely integrate from those who just list both services on their website.
“How do the SEO and PPC teams communicate, and how often?”
Ideally, they are the same team. At minimum, they hold weekly strategy syncs and share a single project workspace. Ask for specifics, not generalities.
“Can you show me a client where SEO insights changed the Google Ads strategy, or vice versa?”
This is the litmus test. If they cannot give you a concrete example of one channel informing the other, integration is marketing language, not operational reality.
“What happens to my ad spend when my organic rankings improve for a keyword?”
The right answer is: we reduce or reallocate the spend. If the answer is “we keep bidding,” they are optimising for their own revenue, not yours.
“Can I speak to a current client running both channels with you?”
A confident agency will connect you. A hesitant one will offer testimonials instead. Insist on a live reference, preferably in a similar industry or at a similar scale.

Frequently asked questions about integrated SEO and Google Ads agencies
Is it better to use one agency for SEO and Google Ads or two separate specialists?
One integrated agency almost always outperforms two specialists. When SEO and Google Ads share data, keyword intelligence, conversion tracking and landing pages, both channels improve. Separate agencies create duplication, conflicting strategies and reporting gaps that cost you money.
How do I know if an agency genuinely integrates SEO and PPC?
Ask to see a single monthly report that combines organic and paid search data. Ask how they prevent keyword cannibalisation. Ask whether the same strategist or team handles both channels. If the answer is two separate teams with separate reports, integration is a label, not a reality.
Will combining SEO and Google Ads with one agency save money?
Yes, in two ways. First, you eliminate duplicated research, reporting and account management fees. Second, the channels inform each other: high-converting paid keywords become SEO targets, strong organic rankings let you reduce ad spend on terms you already own, and shared conversion data improves both.
What is a full-service digital marketing agency?
A full-service digital marketing agency handles multiple channels under one roof: SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, web development, content, creative, social media and analytics. The advantage is that every channel shares data and strategy rather than operating in isolation.
Does AIIMS Group manage both SEO and Google Ads?

Why Google Business Profile, Apple Maps & Bing Places Are Now Part Of AI Discovery.
Your business profiles are no longer basic map listings. They are local trust assets, SEO signals, content hubs and discovery points across Google, Apple, Bing, Microsoft and AI-powered search journeys.
Google My Business is not just Google My Business anymore.
Most business owners still think of Google Business Profile as a place to add opening hours, a phone number and a few photos. That is old thinking. Today, local business profiles influence how customers discover, compare, trust and contact a business before they ever reach the website.
The same thinking now applies to Apple Maps and Bing Places. Apple controls a major mobile discovery path through iPhone users. Bing connects into Microsoft search behaviour, Edge, Copilot-style discovery and AI-assisted search behaviour.
Local profiles are now part of the AI Overview and GEO conversation.
SEO is still about making your business findable, useful and relevant. GEO, or Generative Engine Optimisation, adds another layer: making your business easier for AI systems to understand, summarise and recommend.
When AI systems interpret local intent, they need structured facts: business name, categories, locations, services, products, reviews, images and trustworthy supporting content.
Local SEO relevance across services, products and locations
Google AI Overview clarity through consistent business information
GEO visibility by strengthening entity signals across the web
Conversion trust through reviews, images, posts and service proof
Google Business Profile is your local search shopfront.
Google Business Profile can influence how customers see your business in Google Search and Google Maps. A weak profile sends a weak signal. A strong profile gives customers enough confidence to call, visit, request a quote, view products or click through to the website.
What should be managed?
Business profile setup, claiming and verification
Primary and secondary categories
Opening hours, special hours and contact details
Products, services and service areas
Images, gallery updates and visual proof
Monthly Google Business Profile posts
Review monitoring and professional responses
Apple Maps
Apple Maps matters because iPhone users search differently.
Apple Maps visibility is often ignored, but it should not be. Many customers do not open a browser first. They use maps, Siri, mobile search behaviour and Apple’s local ecosystem to find a business, check directions and decide whether the brand feels legitimate.
Bing Places
Bing Places should not be treated as an afterthought.
Bing is part of the Microsoft ecosystem. That makes Bing Places more relevant in a world where AI-assisted search, Microsoft Edge, Windows, Bing Maps and Copilot-style behaviour are becoming more connected.
Products & Services
Your products and services should be visible before the website click.
One of the biggest missed opportunities in local profile management is product and service structure. Businesses often list a category but fail to add the actual services, products, descriptions and images that customers care about.
AIIMS Group can help connect ecommerce products where possible, manually add products where needed and create custom service lists aligned with the SEO plan.
Posts & Micro Reels
16 posts per month gives your local profile real movement.
A local profile that never changes looks stale. A local profile with structured monthly activity gives customers and search systems more context.
AIIMS Group builds 16 posts per month based on the SEO plan, including service posts, product posts, location posts, offer posts, review proof and educational content.
Review Management
Reviews are local SEO assets, trust assets and conversion assets.
Review management is not just about responding when something goes wrong. It is about protecting trust, showing the business is active, highlighting service quality and learning from what customers actually say.

FAQs
Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Places, SEO & GEO FAQs
Is Google Business Profile still important for SEO?
Yes. Google Business Profile is still important for local SEO because it supports visibility across Google Search and Google Maps while giving customers key information before they visit the website.
Why should a business manage Apple Maps?
Apple Maps matters because iPhone users often search through Apple’s local ecosystem. Accurate business details, photos and place information can influence trust and directions-based discovery.
Is Bing Places worth setting up?
Yes. Bing Places supports visibility across Bing Search, Bing Maps and the Microsoft ecosystem, which is increasingly relevant as AI-assisted search grows.
How do local profiles support GEO?
Local profiles support GEO by reinforcing business entities, locations, services, products, reviews and structured information that AI systems can use to understand and recommend a business.
Can products be added to Google Business Profile?
Yes. Products can be added where supported, either through available integrations or manual product setup with images, descriptions and links.
How many posts should a business publish on Google Business Profile?
AIIMS Group recommends 16 posts per month when the profile is part of an active SEO plan, covering services, products, locations, offers, reviews and educational content.
What are micro reels for local profiles?
Micro reels are short, lightweight video assets under 2MB designed for profile activity, visual proof and quick customer engagement.
Should review management be part of local SEO?
Yes. Reviews influence trust, conversion and local profile presentation. They also provide useful content themes for service pages, FAQs and local SEO strategy.

The Challenge
From $800 a Day. Zero to Show for It.
The first call from Theo, owner of Flowsafe Plumbing, came in on 28 August 2024. He was running his own Google Ads campaign on an $800 daily budget and was lucky to get one or two calls a day. The spend was there. The strategy, structure and conversion infrastructure were not.
Flowsafe Plumbing Pty Ltd is a Melbourne-based, Australian-owned plumbing business offering 24/7 emergency and general plumbing services across Melbourne Metro and the South Eastern suburbs. Services span blocked drains, burst pipes, leak detection, gas fittings, hot water systems and water filtration. The operational foundation was solid. The digital presence was not reflecting it.
When the business came on board, the existing website was basic and not built to convert. There was no meaningful SEO footprint, no structured landing page network, limited lead tracking, no professional photography and no clear digital growth architecture.
How We Overcame It
Launched local area landing pages immediately, giving campaigns a strong destination while the full website was being developed.
Set up WildJar phone tracking at onboarding with 12 tracking IDs, closing the attribution gap from day one.

Getting listed on GMB means you’re visible. When potential customers search your business name, your GMB is plastered on the right side of the search page.
Google My Business puts your business on the map–literally! As long as your business interacts with customers.
GMB profile, but not everyone knows how to set up a great one. Many think it’s good enough to simply be listed, and neglect That’s where AiiMS comes in. Our GMB experts elevate your profile with a comprehensive package of services. After getting to know you better and setting a few goals and expectations, we go straight to work.
Your shiny new GMB profile is set up with all your business categories, services and operating locations filled in to maximise your chances of appearing in related searches. Logos and photos, which our in-house designers and photographers can create for you, are uploaded onto the profile, leaving a better impression on potential customers.
Once the page is properly set up, our GMB experts continue to update it. Every month, a number of posts are put up on the profile in a similar vein to social media posts. These updates let Google know that your business is active, giving it a better rating in searches.
So what’s the big deal?
Still not convinced you need our GMB packages? Let’s explore how GMB links back to the rest of your online campaign.
If you have a website that you rely on for your online presence, then GMB directly helps that. For many common services, Google tries to show consumers websites of businesses in the immediate area. A strong GMB page that is linked back to your website drives local SEO by establishing your business as reputable in its operating areas, which in turn improves Google’s rating of your website.
GMB also greatly assists in building a brand. Aside from being able to project a professional appearance with a competent profile, satisfied customers can leave reviews that boost your business’ reputation, and provide a valuable resource in the form of testimonials. Not to mention, having a positive rating makes Google more likely to recommend you in searches.
Accelerated: The Next Level GMB
While our standard Local package includes all aforementioned services, AiiMS’ Accelerated Google My Business package is a recent addition for those who would like quicker results.
With the Accelerated package, we help you commit to loftier goals, such as getting your GMB into the “Google Pack”–the top 3 listings for relevant and competitive search keywords. To achieve this, we place a heavier emphasis on SEO work. Not only do we double the monthly posts on your GMB profile, we work twice as hard on implementing backlinks to your main website in them. This improves offsite SEO for your website, which in turn synergises and boosts your GMB rankings as well.
The Accelerated GMB package is perfect for those with ambitious online campaigns, who want to take things to the next level sooner than later.
Don’t underestimate the impact of Google My Business–talk to us today and learn more about being more than just a blip on the radar.

2. 91% of people read Google My Business reviews prior to contacting a local business.
Business reviews are integral to build trust with customers. With online reviews being such an important trust signal for Google users, it is paramount for companies to ensure they are getting business reviews on their Google profile.

3. 51% of Google My Business profiles receive more than 1,000 views per month.
When it comes to small businesses, our metrics show that 51% of Google My Business accounts receive more than 1,000 views per month.
A Google Business profile breaks down its insights into two parts. There are search listings and maps listings. Search listings refers to when your business appears in the local pack, while Maps listing refers to when your business appears in the Maps section.
Google My Business will often have more reach than a businesses website within search engines, since Google is always looking to display geographically relevant companies.
A small businesses website will often deliver around 15-25% of the total traffic a Google My Business listing will, so this goes to show just how integral a Google My Business page can be for a small business struggling to obtain market share in their industry.
4. 60% of interactions on Google My Business are a website click.
When a Google My Business profile is viewed, 60% of the interactions completed are a website click.
With the average views of a Google business profile being 1,000 monthly views, this goes to show just how much more website traffic a website can receive off the back of a well optimised Google business profile.
When checking your Google Analytics metrics, you may see a portion of your overall website traffic coming from ‘Direct’ sources. When reviewing hundreds of different client profiles, we have found a strong correlation between a Google business profile listing being the main driver for ‘Direct’ website traffic.
There are additional ways to track the traffic coming through from your Google My Business profile, such as specific set-ups within the Google Analytics and Google Search Console to connect the data sets.
5. 45% of businesses receive appointment requests through Google My Business.
When establishing a Google Business Profile, you may be prompted (depending on the nature of your business and the nature of your business listing) to add an Appointments section.
When we complete Google Business Profile configuration for a client’s Google My Business profile we will either divert this to a calendar link or to the website’s contact form.
With 45% of businesses receiving appointment requests, generally for an initial consultation or a quote, it is integral for businesses to ensure they have completed the appointment section within their Google business listing properly.
Some Google consumers and users prefer to contact a number of businesses online before making a decision to jump on a phone call, so by having the appointment request functionality, you can be sure that your business is a contender for these ‘shyer’ local searchers.
6. 91% of a local businesses weekday calls can be attributed to their Google My Business page.
This is one of the most important statistics within our Google My Business statistics. A whopping 91% of weekday calls to a business can be attributed to their Google My Business page.
While some of these calls can be traced down to a simple Google search of customers trying to find contact details for a business they already know, a large number of these calls are from customers to small businesses that they are discovering for the first time.
Ensuring that the information in your Google My Business profile is up to date is now more important than ever.
By having up to date information in your Google My Business listing, businesses can expect a significant upward swing in phone calls through their Google business profile.
7. Negative Google reviews impact 45% of local consumers contacting a business.
A word of warning about negative feedback. It is crucial that small businesses ensure that their customers have a positive experience, otherwise this can drastically impact not only their rankings within the local pack, but can also impact customers getting in touch with them.
8. 66% of Google users contacted a business based on its Google business profile.
A Google business profile will be one of the major marketing components for a small business. Through your Google business listing, businesses have the capacity to market themselves to 66% of Google users who specifically contact businesses based on their Google business profile.

Google searches are clearly swaying towards finding a local company online and Google business accounts now contribute to 66% of the Google market share getting in touch with businesses.
With the ability to view all of the key data of a business in one place, such as reviews, contact information, photos and the address, it is really no surprise that a Google My Business profile is the preferred method for most Google users.
9. Accomodation and hotels are the highest viewed Google My Business profiles.
The travel industry has long been a titan when it comes to search engine market share. People search for accomodation and hotels everyday, typically in areas that aren’t within their own physical location.
Over the past 2 years, accomodation and hotels have been the highest viewed Google My Business accounts. This is across both discovery searches and the Google Maps app itself.
Car dealerships receive a large number as well, interestingly, and come in second across our agencies data when comparing them to the average business.
10. 59% of customers view Google My Business images before making a purchase.
While a website click may be the largest interaction on Google Business profiles, 59% of customers will view a Google My Business page’s photos before making a purchase.
Many businesses simply focus on ensuring their Google My Business profile has accurate up to date information, and while accurate information is definitely important, so are images.
11. 51% of Google My Business profiles remain unclaimed.
This is quite a scary statistics within the Google My Business sphere, and further shows just how many businesses aren’t optimised for local search.

With Google My Business being completely free for all businesses, there is no reason why a local company should be missing out on this opportunity to increase their online visibility.
It is a simple and straightforward process to optimise a Google My Business page for local intent and just as easy to input a business description, accurate information and a correct business name to appear within local searches.
By inputting your business address, you can be rest assured knowing that Google has accurate business information within your Google My Business account.
12. 87% of users perform a daily Google search for local businesses.
More than ever, potential customers are combing Google to find local businesses. Google is the most trusted search engine in the market and users know that they can safely trust the recommendations that Google makes to them.
As we have covered above, local searches contribute a substantial amount of organic traffic to a local business. With 87% of Google users performing a search for a business, small businesses are exposed to a highly concentrated amount of potential customers.
The business listings section of Google is integral, and search results favour business listings to deliver the most relevant results for direct search.
It doesn’t matter if the search is coming from mobile devices or desktop computers, a whopping 87% of users are now looking for a local business in their area everyday.
13. 72% of Google users will prefer a business that is closer to their location on Google Maps.
A business’s location has a big impact on whether or not a potential customer will get in touch. Convenience and location are two integral factors in today’s world.
Most consumers prefer businesses that are closer to them for local services. This is why it is so important to include a physical address and accurate business information (including up to date business hours), since it can increase the amount of customers that get in touch with you.

As we have already outlined, customer satisfaction is crucial for business success. Some business owners think receiving positive reviews is difficult, but it doesn’t have to be.

While obtaining positive reviews isn’t necessarily under the banner of web fundamental best practices, it certainly is good for business, organic rankings and should never be skipped by business owners.
Business owners can view their Google My Business reviews from inside the Dashboard itself. Simply select the drop down menu on the left hand side of your Google My Business profile from the Dashboard and you can check all of your reviews. You are also able to flag, respond to and manage all of your Google reviews from this one place.
15. “Near Me” Google Maps searches have increased 900% in the past 24 months.
Not only have “Near Me” searches grown exponentially within the past 24 months in the search results, they have become one of the biggest overall contributors to website visits.
By having a properly optimised Google My Business profile, businesses can appear in the “Near Me” searches for local searches occurring near their businesses address. This captive market within close proximity to your business address can astronomically increase your overall conversions.

What is Google My Business?
To begin, it’s essential to clarify what a Business Profile is within the context of Google. Your Business Profile is essentially your Google business listing. It appears in Google Maps and local search results on Google. Creating a Business Profile is equivalent to adding a place to Google Maps, a task that can be performed by anyone, even automated listing generators. Google merely requires basic information like the business name, location, and category. Once verified as not a duplicate, Google creates the Business Profile for that location. This profile becomes open for consumers to leave reviews, upload photos, ask questions, and even provide answers. Google may also aggregate information from various sources across the web to populate the Business Profile.
In essence, a Business Profile can exist independently of a Google My Business account. Whether you created your Business Profile or not, you lack the ability to manage the displayed information or the reviews it collects.
This is where Google My Business steps in. By establishing a Google My Business account, you gain the power to access, customize, manage, and enhance your Business Profile on Google, all at no cost. We’ll explore this in more detail shortly.
How to Use Google My Business for Local Marketing
Now that we’ve distinguished Google My Business from your Business Profile, let’s explore the four primary ways you can utilize Google My Business to transform your Google listing into an effective local marketing tool:
1. Engage with Consumers: Your Google My Business account enables you to interact with consumers in various ways. You can respond to reviews, answer questions, enable direct messaging, and set up associated alerts. Similar to social media platforms, you can even publish posts to your Business Profile via Google My Business.
2. Highlight Your Business: A Business Profile provides limited information about your business. However, your Google My Business account dashboard empowers you to furnish essential details such as operating hours, website links, product offerings, pricing, attributes, and other unique aspects of your business. It also serves as the platform for making necessary edits and updates.
3. Gain Insights: Leveraging the Google My Business dashboard, you can access valuable insights about your audience and local search performance. The analytics tab offers insights into customer queries that led to your Business Profile, the source (Google Maps or Google Search), actions taken on your listing, and photo performance compared to other profiles in your category.
4. Perform Local SEO: Just as Google employs algorithms to rank advertisements and websites, it also employs algorithms to rank Business Profiles. Using your Google My Business dashboard, you can optimize your Business Profile with relevant keywords and other enhancements to enhance its ranking in local search results.
How to Leverage Google My Business for SEO
Google Business Profiles are dynamic and adaptable. They adjust based on the platform and prioritize sections of your profile depending on the searched term and the most critical information for consumers in your category. Furthermore, Google may highlight relevant keywords within your profile content.
However, for Google to prioritize and embolden keywords, your profile must contain sufficient information and relevant keywords in the first place. Just as you’d use a content management system like WordPress to optimize your website for search engines, Google My Business serves as a tool for optimizing your profile and expanding your online reach.
Incorporating keywords, optimizing content, and staying active on Google My Business can significantly boost your Business Profile’s visibility, ultimately leading to better SEO outcomes. So, don’t overlook the power of Google My Business in your quest for online success.
