Automotive video production · Hot Spot Autos × AIIMS
Hot Spot Autos.
Used cars.
New-car launch energy.
A dealership with more to say than “here’s another car”. Six distinct films built around the reasons people buy, sell and choose who to trust.
The case study in one minute
Six films.
Three commercial jobs.
AIIMS created a six-video content suite for Hot Spot Autos, bringing cinematic car footage, recognisable situations and clear commercial messages into one creative library.
The idea was simple: make the brand memorable, give buyers a reason to enquire and give sellers a reason to start a conversation. Each film approaches a different part of that task.
About the business
Meet Hot Spot Autos.
Hot Spot Autos is a Sydney used-car dealership with locations in Granville and Auburn. Its vehicle range spans passenger cars, SUVs, 4WDs, utes and commercial vans.
Customers can buy, sell or trade a vehicle. The business also promotes online purchasing, personalised vehicle videos, vehicle inspections, finance options and Australia-wide delivery.
That gives the creative a useful starting point: the customer is choosing an experience as well as a vehicle.

Make the dealership as interesting as the cars.
A vehicle walkaround can show the stock. A distinctive campaign also needs to make people remember the business behind it.
For Hot Spot Autos, the creative opportunity sat between everyday car-buying concerns and the visual confidence of automotive brand advertising: time, budget, choice and the decision to sell an existing vehicle.
Our approach gave those subjects their own stories, with a different opening, pace and reason to watch in each film.
The creative angle
Used cars.
New-car launch energy.
Give the dealership the visual ambition of a vehicle launch, then connect that craft to a real customer decision.
Build the brand.
Use pace, personality and cinematic vehicle treatment to create an identity people can recognise across the collection.
Attract the buyer.
Open on a relevant concern, whether that is time, value or vehicle choice, and give the viewer a clear reason to look closer.
Reach the seller.
Make room for the person selling a car. A dealership needs conversations about incoming stock as well as its next sale.

Direction and production
Bring together people, vehicles, locations, lighting and camera movement. Plan the coverage around the finished stories.
Edit and finish
Shape the pace through editing, colour, sound and graphics. Give each concept its own character while keeping the collection visually connected.
The output
One dealership.
A broader creative range.
The finished suite gives Hot Spot Autos several ways to introduce the business: convenience, humour, visual impact, value and the seller’s perspective.
For a media team, that range creates useful material for testing different messages and learning which stories earn a response. For the brand, it creates a more distinctive presence than repeating a single stock-led format.
The stock brings people to a dealership.
The story gives them a reason to choose it.

What did AIIMS produce for Hot Spot Autos?
AIIMS created six distinct video concepts covering the dealership experience, a news parody, a cinematic whip-pan edit, two value-focused films and a film speaking to private sellers.
Why use several creative angles?
People arrive with different priorities. Time, budget, vehicle choice and selling an existing car each offer a different starting point. Several concepts give a campaign team more relevant messages to test.
What does this case study demonstrate?
It shows how a dealership proposition can become a varied creative library through concept development, production and editing. Each film has a clear message and a distinct role within the collection.
How can a dealership plan its own video campaign?
Start with the business objective, the audience and the next action you want the viewer to take. AIIMS can then plan the concepts, production and finished assets through its performance video offering.
