AIIMS Group / Brand identity case study
Car Spa Autowash Cafe.
A car wash with a reason to stay.
The Modern Chrome proposal connects premium car care with a welcoming café experience. One visual identity, considered across the whole customer visit.
TL;DR
AIIMS developed the Modern Chrome branding proposal for Car Spa Autowash Cafe, bringing a geometric logo, a defined colour system and automotive imagery into one clear creative direction.
The presentation extends that identity into wash bay, detailing bay and café concepts, alongside website, social media, MMS and email marketing mockups. The work explores how car care and hospitality can feel like one connected brand.
About Car Spa Autowash Cafe
Car care meets café culture.
Car Spa Autowash Cafe combines car washing and detailing with a café, giving customers somewhere to spend time while their vehicle is cleaned. Its public company profile lists Glenwood, New South Wales, as its base.
That combination gives the brand two connected responsibilities: communicate care and precision around the vehicle, then make the customer’s time on site feel comfortable and worthwhile.
The Modern Chrome proposal addresses both. It presents a strong automotive identity alongside a lighter, more inviting direction for the café.

The design brief
Brand the whole visit.
A customer encounters the business through more than its logo. Roadside signage, the wash bay, the waiting area and a follow-up message all contribute to the impression they take away.
For this proposal, the design challenge was to make the technical side of car care and the comfort of the café belong together. The vehicle service needed to feel precise and professional. The café needed to feel fresh and easy to spend time in.
Modern Chrome establishes a shared visual language that can support both, with enough flexibility to work across large signs, small screens and different parts of the venue.
This approach sits within AIIMS branding and visual identity services , connecting how a business looks with how customers experience it.
01 / Visual identity
A recognisable mark.
A consistent design language.
The proposed brandmark combines the letters C and S in a geometric symbol. Its angular construction and bold wordmark give Car Spa a distinctive visual starting point.
The presentation includes stacked and horizontal logo arrangements, an independent symbol and a wordmark treatment. These variations show how the identity can adapt to signage, promotional artwork and digital layouts while keeping the same character.
Colour direction
Dark for precision. Light for comfort.
Midnight anchors the automotive side of the brand. Pearl and Foam provide a cleaner, lighter direction for the café. Petrol adds a muted accent, while Orange draws attention to offers and calls to action.
The palette gives the two experiences different atmospheres within one identity. A customer can move from the wash bay to the café and still recognise the same business.
Typography that carries the character.
Microgramma D Extended gives the proposed headings a wide, industrial character. Archivo Regular supports readable body copy, making the system practical for service information, menus and promotional material.
Show the detail customers care about.
The imagery direction focuses on close views of vehicles, polished surfaces and controlled light. Technical line graphics reinforce the idea of precision. Together, these references give the brand a way to communicate attention to detail before a customer reads the service description.
02 / Customer experience concepts
The space should feel like the brand.
The presentation carries the identity into the physical customer experience. It explores how signage, lighting and seating could make the venue easier to understand and more enjoyable to use.
Each area has a specific job. The wash bay communicates the service. The detail bay expresses care and precision. The café gives customers somewhere comfortable to spend their time.
Wash bay concept
Make the service easy to see.
The wash bay concept considers pillar and wall banners, overhead signs, digital screens and freestanding displays. These positions create opportunities to explain services, introduce membership ideas and highlight promotions at relevant points in the visit.
The design purpose is clear communication: help customers understand what is available as they enter, move through and leave the wash area.
Detail bay concept
Give precision a visible presence.
Circular overhead lighting and vertical LED treatments feature in the detailing references. Combined with dark finishes and clean lines, they explore a focused, technical environment that makes the vehicle the centre of attention.
This is a spatial direction for the brand’s detailing experience, using the same visual character as the identity and automotive imagery.
Café concept
Make waiting time feel worthwhile.
The café direction uses natural light, neutral tones and warm material references to create a more relaxed setting. Communal tables and individual seating explore how the space could accommodate a coffee break, a conversation or time spent working.
Clear areas for ordering and seating give the concept a practical customer focus. Coffee and açaí appear in the proposed creative as part of that hospitality story.
03 / Digital creative
The same identity.
Beyond the wash bay.
The digital mockups show how Car Spa’s visual language could continue before and after a visit. They apply the identity to a website concept, social content, a personalised MMS promotion and a VIP welcome email.
Each format has a different role, giving the brand a considered starting point for attracting customers and communicating with them again.
Website concept
Make the offering clear.
The website mockup introduces the brand through strong automotive imagery and a clean layout. It demonstrates a possible digital direction for presenting the car care experience.
Social creative
Connect car care and café.
The social examples bring vehicle care, coffee and café messaging into one recognisable style, alongside illustrative membership and corporate account promotions.
MMS and email
Give the next visit a prompt.
A weather-themed MMS example and a VIP welcome email explore how relevant promotions and clear onboarding could support ongoing customer communication.
The website appears here as a design mockup. The presentation documents creative concepts for these channels.
Connecting the experience
One brand, throughout the visit.
Recognisable social artwork and a clear website concept introduce the offering.
Signage and wash bay communication help customers understand the service.
The café concept gives the customer’s time on site a considered setting.
MMS and email concepts give the brand a way to stay in touch after the visit.
The creative outcome
A clear foundation for the brand’s next step.
The Modern Chrome proposal brings the identity and its applications into one documented direction. It gives Car Spa a consistent starting point for developing its visual presence, customer environment and marketing.
The value is in the connection between those parts. The same design decisions can carry from a roadside sign into the café, then into the next message a customer receives.
