بيت يوسف — The House of Youssef
Bayt
Youssef.
A cafe didn’t need a new name. A founder did. When a mother passed and the walls felt like someone else’s story, we helped build a house that finally felt like hers.
When the name stops feeling like yours, you change it.
EST 1901 was a Lebanese-inspired cafe in Haberfield. The food was personal. The team, warm. The community, loyal. But after the new owner took over in 2024, something quietly didn’t fit. The name. The identity. The brand she’d inherited wasn’t hers.
Then her mother passed.
And in grief, something crystallised. A new name arrived — not from a brief or a brainstorm, but from love. Bayt Youssef. The House of Youssef. Named for her mother. Built for everything her mother represented: warmth, hospitality, roots, belonging.
She came to AIIMS not with a marketing problem. She came with a name and a feeling. Our job was to make the world see it the way she did.

The space was designed before a single brick moved.

A place that finally feels like her.
Bayt Youssef didn’t just get a new name. It got a new life. The rebrand didn’t erase what EST 1901 was. It transformed it into something that could carry the weight of the story behind it.
The food is still Lebanese-inspired. The team is still warm. The community is still loyal. But now the brand matches all of that. The space looks like the name sounds. The content tells the story that needed to be told.
Somewhere in every detail, a mother’s name lives on.
